Auto mode

Auto is the default mode. It watches the page as a whole and uses AI to decide whether what changed is worth an alert, so a rotated banner or a new timestamp doesn’t wake you up.

How it works

On each check monity.ai captures the page, compares both the screenshot and the page’s structure with the previous check, and finds what actually changed. AI then reviews the change: if it’s meaningful, or matches your Notify me when rule, you get an alert with a short summary. If not, the check is recorded quietly in the task’s history.

When to choose something else

  • Every pixel matters, for example checking a design hasn’t broken: use Visual with a threshold.
  • Only one value matters, such as a price: use Element and data extraction.
  • You want alerts for specific words: use Text with keywords.
Tip

Auto works best with a rule. “Notify me when a new plan is added or a price changes” gets you far fewer, far better alerts than “any change”.
