Wachete alternatives in 2026: six tools compared, and our pick

Wachete is cheap and simple. Here’s what it gives you today, six alternatives compared on price, check speed and alerts, and why we pick Monity when relevance matters more than page count.

Wachete alternatives in 2026: six tools compared, and our pick

Wachete is one of the simplest website change monitors to start with: paste a link, pick how often to check it, and get an alert by email or on your phone. It runs in the cloud and it’s inexpensive. People start looking around when they watch many pages that Wachete treats as dynamic and that smaller allowance runs out first, or when they’d rather describe the change they care about in a sentence than pick page sections.

We make Monity, so this guide leads with it and says why. Every price and limit on this page comes from each vendor’s own pricing page, checked in October 2026. Prices change, so check before you buy.

What Wachete gives you today

  • Free: 5 static pages and 1 dynamic page, checked every 24 hours.
  • Starter: $5.40/month billed monthly ($60.40/year billed yearly) for 50 static pages and 1 dynamic page, checked every 60 minutes.
  • Standard: $10.90/month ($120.90/year) for 100 static pages and 2 dynamic pages, checked every 10 minutes.
  • Premium: $54.90/month ($604.90/year) for 500 static pages and 10 dynamic pages, checked every 5 minutes.
  • Ultimate: $329.90/month ($3,629.90/year) for 3,000 static pages and 60 dynamic pages, checked every 5 minutes.
  • Every plan: no limit on the number of checks, 12 months of history, pages behind a login, and text inside PDF, DOC, DOCX and XLSX files. Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial.

The split that matters is static versus dynamic pages: Wachete counts them separately, and the dynamic allowance is much smaller, so check how many of your pages it treats as dynamic before you pick a plan.

Our pick when relevance matters: Monity

If the problem is alerts you don’t need, or pages built with JavaScript, Monity is the tool we’d choose:

  • No static or dynamic split. Every task runs in a real browser and counts the same, whether the page is a plain article or a JavaScript app.
  • Describe the change instead of picking page parts. Write “tell me when the 15-inch price changes” and AI checks every change against that sentence, ignoring noise such as cookie banners.
  • It confirms what it reads. A few minutes after you save, Monity’s AI opens the page and shows exactly what it will compare, so the alert names the value that changed.
  • Phone and team alerts on every plan. Push notifications in the iOS and Android apps, plus Slack, Teams, Google Sheets, Telegram, Discord, email and webhooks, all on the free plan too.
Monity’s setup verification on a store page: Verified · watching MacBook Air starting prices, 13-inch and 15-inch
Setup verification by AI on a store page: the two starting prices Monity reads and compares.

What a Monity alert gives you

Alerts include an AI summary of what changed and open the check behind them: the screenshot, the page before and after and every text change. In the iOS and Android apps you get the same view, with the items that were added or removed.

A Monity check in the iPhone app: Alert sent, 30 items with 4 new and 4 removed, and an AI summary saying new stories were posted to the top of the list
A check in the iOS app: what changed, item by item, with an AI summary.

Pages behind a login or a cookie wall work too: before each check Monity can accept cookies, sign in and click through to the right tab. Saved browser sessions (Devices) come with every paid plan and the Business trial, and free accounts can sign in through the live browser.

Price: Personal starts at $10/mo billed yearly ($12 monthly) for 1,000 checks a month and 20 tasks. Business starts at $25/mo billed yearly ($35 monthly), and Business 10k, with 10,000 checks a month, 100 tasks and 5 seats, is $50/mo billed yearly or $70 monthly. Every alert channel is on every plan, every tier is on the pricing page, and there’s a 7-day Business trial with no card. For the head-to-head, see Monity vs Wachete.

What a sentence can do that a selected area can’t

Selecting part of a page tells a monitor where to look. A sentence also tells it what counts, which is where most of the noise goes:

  • Thresholds. “Tell me when the price drops below $200” alerts when that happens, not on every price move in between.
  • Items, not areas. On a list or a table, Monity names the row that was added, removed or changed, with the old value next to the new one.
  • Meaning, not pixels. When your condition is about prices, a cookie banner, a rotated testimonial or a reworded paragraph doesn’t send an alert. A new price does.
  • The value travels with the alert. Each alert can add a row to Google Sheets with the value Monity read, so a price history builds itself.

The other alternatives, briefly

Visualping

Visualping includes visual, text and element change detection, unlimited AI change summaries with an important-or-not flag, and actions such as logging in or clicking before a check, on every plan. Its REST API and MCP server come with every plan. Slack, Teams and Google Sheets alerts are on Business plans only. Personal 1K is $14/mo monthly or $120/yr; Personal 10K checks every 2 minutes for $70/mo or $600/yr.

How Monity compares: Slack, Teams and Sheets on every plan, and at least twice the pages on each Personal tier for the same price.

Distill.io

Distill.io started as a browser extension, with extensions for Chrome and Firefox, and its free plan includes 25 monitors, 5 of them in the cloud. Starter is $15/month for 50 monitors checked every 10 minutes; Flexi starts at $80/month with checks every 2 minutes.

How Monity compares: everything runs in the cloud, and the condition is a sentence rather than a selector or macro.

changedetection.io

A fully open-source project you can host yourself. The hosted plan watches up to 5,000 URLs with a real Chrome browser for JavaScript pages and supports over 85 notification types; you tune it with trigger text, CSS/xPath rules and ignore lists.

How Monity compares: nothing to host or tune, and the alert is tied to the change you described.

PageCrawl.io

PageCrawl.io’s free plan covers 6 pages and 220 checks with 90 days of history. Its next plan is $160 billed annually (shown as $13.33 / month) for up to 200 pages and 30,000 checks.

How Monity compares: monthly or yearly billing, setup verification by AI and every alert channel from the free plan up.

ChangeTower

ChangeTower includes extra team members from its first paid plan (1 on Lite, 3 on Essential, 5 on Business) and AI monitoring on every monitor. Lite is $12/mo for 25 pages checked every 24 hours; Essential is $36/mo for 100 pages checked every hour.

How Monity compares: checks every 15 minutes from Personal 5k and Business 1k, and every 5 minutes from Personal 10k and Business 20k.

Moving your Wachete monitors

  1. List the pages you watch in Wachete, and mark the ones that are dynamic or need a login.
  2. Recreate the important ones first. In Monity you paste the URL and write the condition as a sentence instead of selecting page parts; business accounts can paste many rows at once with Import tasks.
  3. Run both tools side by side for a few days and compare which alerts were actually useful.
  4. Turn off the old monitors once the new ones have caught a real change.

Stay with Wachete if you watch mostly static pages and the lowest bill matters most: Starter covers 50 static pages for $5.40/month with no limit on the number of checks.

Before you move, our free text diff and before-and-after comparison tools are a quick way to see how a page changed.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Why switch from Wachete?

The usual reasons are a dynamic-page allowance that runs out before the static one, wanting checks faster than every 5 minutes, or wanting alerts tied to a described condition rather than any change in a selected area.

What is the best alternative to Wachete?

For relevant alerts on JavaScript-heavy pages, Monity: every task runs in a real browser and counts the same, you describe the change in a sentence, and Slack, Teams, Google Sheets and push alerts are on every plan. For the lowest bill on static pages, Wachete itself is hard to beat.

Which alternative is closest to Wachete?

ChangeTower and PageCrawl.io are the closest in spirit: simple cloud monitoring at a modest price. Visualping is the closest if you also want AI summaries and faster checks.

Is there a free Wachete alternative?

Yes: Monity, Visualping, Distill.io, PageCrawl.io and ChangeTower all have free plans, and changedetection.io is open source if you host it yourself. The free limits are in the table above.

Does Wachete limit the number of checks?

No. Wachete’s plans limit pages, not checks. Monity, Visualping, Distill.io and PageCrawl.io count checks, so compare your expected volume against each plan.

Can someone set Monity up for me?

Yes. Send the pages on monity.ai/free-month and we set up the monitors and email you the first result, usually within a business day. It’s free, with no account and no card.
