  • Device and browser data: Information about the device you use to access Monity, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and access times, is collected automatically.

  • Cookies and tracking technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance user experience and gather analytics. For more information, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

  • Providing the service: We process your personal information to provide the Monity service, including monitoring websites, sending notifications, and maintaining your account.

Under the UK GDPR, we process your personal data based on one or more of the following legal grounds:

  • Performance of a Contract: The processing of your data is necessary to provide the Monity service that you have requested.

  • Consent: Where applicable, we rely on your consent, such as for marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.

  • Legitimate Interests: We may process your data for our legitimate interests, such as improving our services, ensuring security, or preventing fraud, provided those interests do not override your rights.

  • Legal Obligations: Where required, we process data to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may share your data in the following situations:

  • Service providers: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our service (e.g., hosting, payment processing, customer support). These providers are contractually required to keep your data secure and only process it based on our instructions.

  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your personal data if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., law enforcement).

  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy protections.

  • With your consent: In specific circumstances, we may share your information with third parties if you give us explicit consent to do so.

6. Data retention

Monity retains your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. The retention period may vary depending on the nature of the data and the legal or operational requirements.

  • Account data: We retain account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.

  • Payment information: Financial data is retained in compliance with legal obligations regarding financial record-keeping.

  • Communication data: Support inquiries and other communication records are retained for a reasonable period for record-keeping and audit purposes.

Upon request, we will delete or anonymise personal data, except where retention is required by law.

7. Data security

Monity takes the security of your personal data seriously. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. These measures include:

  • Encryption: We use SSL encryption to protect data transmitted between your device and our servers.

  • Access controls: We limit access to personal data to authorised personnel who need it to perform their job functions.

  • Regular audits: We regularly review our data handling practices to ensure ongoing security.

Despite these measures, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

With Monity, you can access password-protected websites by providing a password in "automations," which our system uses to make periodic updates. We securely hash your password, ensuring that it remains hidden and inaccessible to anyone.

For change detection, Monity.ai captures webpage screenshots and HTML snapshots. These files are securely stored using Amazon AWS S3. Access to these screenshots and HTML files is provided via a unique, long URL, which is sent to your email or another notification channel. To maintain privacy, you should not share these URLs, as anyone with access—regardless of whether they are a Monity.ai user—can view the monitored content.

8. International transfers

Monity primarily processes data in the United Kingdom. However, some of our service providers may be located outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA). If we transfer personal data to countries outside the UK or EEA, we will ensure that adequate safeguards are in place, such as the use of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent legal mechanisms to protect your data.

9. Your rights

As a data subject under the UK GDPR, you have certain rights regarding your personal data. These include:

  • Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

  • Rectification: You can request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Erasure: You can request the deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [[email protected]]. We will respond to your request within one month, subject to any extensions permitted by law.
